I've worked as a newspaper reporter for close to 25 years, most of them with The Tampa Tribune and also The Washington Post. Throughout my career, I've primarily focused on government and politics. My work also has included breaking and investigative stories, features and profiles, and business and real estate articles. My stories have ranged from hurricanes and presidential visits to covering the plight of a baby eaglet that beat the odds after its nest was toppled by vandals. I've won awards for spot news as well as feature work, and earned commendations from senior leadership and readers for my impactful storytelling.
